Unless you take what you have learnt in the classroom or at home out into the real world it is too easy to forget everything. Here in Nerja the Spanish speak a version of the language which is unintelligible even to other Spaniards so coming here only having heard 'proper' Spanish won't help you understand! But once you understand Andaluz you can easily progress to the rest. For me the only way to learn real Spanish is to live in a Spanish speaking community.
