Learn Spanish in San FranciscoTaking spanish classes in San Francisco?  I personally think there could not be a more fun city to learn spanish in.  In the SF Bay Area there lives a huge hispanic population, so it’s easy to practice, or just visit San Jose, where a lot of the city is hispanic.

Now San Francisco and the surrounding area I know lots about.  It is one of my favorite cities and I lived in the Bay Area for 22 years.  I also worked in San Francisco for many of those years.

San Francisco is a seaside metropolis that is seven miles by seven miles square.  It’s a peninsula, so there’s sea water on 3 sides.  Very mild, coolish climate with lots of history and varied cultures make this city one of the world’s most visited cities.  Who wouldn’t love to take spanish classes in San Francisco?

Where do you start with this fabulous city?  Spend your time visiting wonderful landmarks such as Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz.  Or eating in those wonderful seafood restaurants in the Fisherman’s Wharf area, or take a walk-away shrimp or crab cocktail with you, complete with sourdough bread.

And the fabulous DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park, the Legion of Honor Museum in the Presidio (which is a beautiful area with beautiful views).

And you can get around all over the Bay Area, including to two airports on BART, the Bay Area Rapid Transit system that links it all together.  But, you have to take a cable car from Union Square out to Fisherman’s Wharf.
